Odonata Foundation is a local wildlife charity with their main sanctuary in Little River, between our Bendigo, Melbourne and Torquay offices in Victoria. Odonata’s vision is that by 2050, Australia’s once threatened species are thriving outside of sanctuaries in healthy, productive landscapes.
“We’re committed to having a positive environmental and social impact through our consulting work, and this aligns with Odonata’s drive to save threatened species and our B Corp certification,” RMCG Associate Carl Larsen said.
As many RMCG staff are passionate about protecting our environment and wildlife, there is also an opportunity to explore further staff involvement with Odonata in the coming months, including supporting their network of sanctuaries across Victoria.
“We’re thrilled to have the support of RMCG to continue our threatened species programs at Odonata’s Mt Rothwell Sanctuary in Little River,” Odonata Foundation CEO Sam Marwood said.
“Mt Rothwell supports the recovery of threatened species including the southern brush-tailed rock wallaby, eastern barred bandicoot and eastern quoll.
“Once animal populations reach viable levels at our home sanctuary, we are then able to translocate selected animals to new identified sites in our network, which insures the species against the threat of climate change, predation, natural disasters, and poor genetics. This allows our precious native wildlife to be enjoyed for future generations.”
This support complements RMCG’s existing donations and pro bono time for organisations including WaterAid Australia, Dja Dja Wurrung Clans Aboriginal Corporation, Landcare Victoria, One Basin Cooperative Research Centre (CRC), Solving Plastic Waste CRC, and the Tasmanian Agricultural Productivity Group.
